I am retired from the US Air Force and from Law Enforcement. Having spent much of my Air Force career in asia and studying traditional karate , I now have it in my blood and can no longer escape from its grip. I still practice tradional Karate,, (Okinawan G0-Ju Ryu, Shotokan, and even do some Ancestral White Crane ((although i guess u cannot call that karate)) but its the forerunner.), I also practice Yang Tai Ji Quan, and as I age,,, im 65 now,, I lean more towards the Tai Ji,, I wish I had been more serious about it when I was younger,, but alas,, youth is wasted on the young. So here I am trying to learn the Ultimate Fist Art, and making my Chi perform as it should. But I enjoy Tai ji very much,,and it has helped me so much in all ways. From soothing aching joints ,to in fact, making my Karate Kata much better. I travel to Asia once a year to learn and train,, mostly to Okinawa for my Go-Ju Ryu,, but this year hope to get down to the Philippines and to China to help my Tai Ji.. At this moment in time,,im training with Sifu Vanessa Wu, Yang Tai Ji teacher at the East West College in Sarasota, Florida, Russ Smith Sensei, of Go-Ju Ryu, 5 ancestors and ancestral white crane . Im leaving this month for Okinawa and will train there with Kuba Sensei, Go-Ju Ryu and Shinjo Sensei , Tomari, Shorin. From there to the Phil and train Yang Tai Ji at the Manila UP. (I Hope) |
